Thomas Jefferson Most Important Presidents That The...

The name Thomas Jefferson will sound familiar to most American people. In fact, some people might argue that he was one of the most important presidents that the United States ever had. He was born on April 17, 1743 in Abemarle County, Virginia. So what made Thomas Jefferson so important? He was one of the earliest leaders that ended British rule in the United States. (Mccolley 160). He was considered the first democrat, and he was known as a Virginia aristocrat. His parents were both rich, and Jefferson definitely followed in their footsteps. At an early age, Jefferson learned the importance of politics. He attended private school all of his life, and he went on to attend the College of William and Mary. He was a very intellectual student, and he completed his degree within two years. Jefferson visited with the governer a lot. He went on to visit quarter sessions of the courts. He quickly rose the political ladder and was soon above everyone that he mentored under. Jefferson became a part of the House of Burgesses, which was the first democratic legislative body of the British Americans. He was known for his wealth, which helped him rise to president. His father passed away, and he gained all of his land. After, he got married which doubled his property. Thomas Jefferson had more than two hundred slaved. He was always ready to learn about new information, which is part of the reason he was so successful.
